ABOUT BLAUWcc
BLAUWcc is a gallery and concept store dedicated to blue art and collectables. At Zwaanshals 484 in Rotterdam, enthusiasts can find art, design objects, upcycled denim and curiosities, all around one central theme: the colour blue.
Yes, absolutely everything at BLAUWcc is blue. The art on the walls, the clothing on the racks, the design objects and the curiosities for sale. For example, visitors will find various collections by Royal Delft such as the Schiffmacher Royal Blue Tattoo line, the playful Goldie Tiles and the impressive Re-Framed | Wall Panels. In addition, BLAUWcc offers artworks, clothing and home accessories by DIED, the expressive brand of Dutch designers Diederik Verbakel and Marieke Holthuis. BLAUWcc wants to curate a diverse and surprising range for visitors with high-quality works and products from home and abroad.
"With BLAUWcc we want to create a place where art, fashion and design come together. We believe that the color blue, in all its shades, is a powerful and universal symbol of peace, depth and infinity," says Maarten Reijgersberg, co-founder of BLAUWcc. "Our gallery is more than just a store; it is a space for meetings, inspiration and sharing creative energy. The name 'cc' stands for 'collectables and community', because these two aspects form the core of our concept."
Maarten Reijgersberg (born in Haarlem, June 28, 1976) graduated in 2000 from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam in the direction of 'Autonomous 3D'. After 14 years of building his creative agency RAUWcc into a company with over 20 creative professionals, he and his wife Esther Reijgersberg-Biekart decided to turn their passion for art and design into a new adventure: BLAUWcc.
Esther Reijgersberg-Biekart (born in Arnhem, November 13, 1975) graduated as a fashion designer from the Artez Academy in Arnhem and has gained extensive experience at various fashion companies and boutiques in Rotterdam. "After years of working in various creative sectors, the step to our own gallery and concept store felt like a natural evolution," says Esther. "With BLAUWcc we want to offer a platform to special artists and designers, both local and international, who share our love for the color blue."
